This small old ceramic statuette of the crowned Virgin and Child is particularly touching with its two black faces without details. A few touches of gold and the bouquet of colored lilies suggest that it was polychrome. (The Black Virgins are effigies that belong to the iconography of the European Middle Ages or representations of Saint Sarah Patroness of the Gypsies).
