The cottage

In the fall of 2022, we started renovating this old abandoned forge adjoining our house. We dreamed of being able to offer our future visitors what we have always been looking for as vacationers: an old and magical place whose renovation would not undermine either the charm or the poetry.

The Gîte de la Forge will open in the summer of 2025 and will allow us to make the everyday life that is so dear to us accessible: children can walk alone, ride their bikes, see the trees bloom and slide in winter. In autumn there are apples and chestnuts, in summer cherries, and all year round the eggs of our superb fleet of hens. It's silly, it's simple, but it's a real pleasure!

This project also allows us to contribute to safeguarding the incredible local Alsatian heritage that surrounds us: we want to preserve as much as possible the various pieces, paintings and objects currently present in the forge.
