In Weinbourg everything is close and accessible in a few steps without taking the car. It is magic ! During a stay on site you can concoct the route of your choice on foot or by bike whether you are in love with forests, orchards, paths or old houses.
As we are on the edge of the village, it is possible to take a maze of narrow communal passages far from the road and flanked by old low walls with large rounded copings. Beyond the last houses, several wide paths of sandy pink sandstone will lead you to lush gardens. You will come across rare tractors, goats, cows, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, donkeys, frogs, storks, horses...
These paths can lead to the washhouse in the forest under the disused quarries (cf. construction of the Strasbourg cathedral), to the isolated old Jewish cemetery, to the river or to the village next door, passing through the top of the forest. . If you are lucky enough to "ratcher" (chat in Alsatian) with an old person on the way, she may tell you a story that accompanies this bucolic landscape.
